Guido Wacht

Mayor of the municipality and town of Konz

Dear citizens,
Dear music lovers,
Ahead of us are eleven days full of chamber music in Konz and the surrounding area, and I
I am pleased to welcome you to the Konz Music Festival 2026.
In the heart of our beautiful wine region, you can expect, in addition to top-class
Artists and young musicians who impress the audience and present you with unforgettable concert experiences in extraordinary venues with a unique atmosphere.
Our long-standing collaborations with the Gymnasium Konz, the International Organ Days Konz and the Haus Beda in Bitburg once again enrich the diverse program of this year's festival.
My special thanks go to the numerous supporters and sponsors of the festival, who make its realization possible, to the Vogel als Prophet association, which played a key role in shaping this festival, and last but not least, to the esteemed artistic director, Niall Brown. Join me in looking forward to a special festival that so beautifully combines musical culture, community, and enjoyment in our region, and I hope you enjoy the concerts.

Artistic Director

Welcome to the 2026 Konz Music Festival Where Virtuosity Meets the Vine
It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to this year’s Konz Music Festival – a festival where first-class chamber music meets the finest wines of this beautiful region. Here, unforgettable concerts and meaningful encounters come to life.
Set against the unique backdrop of the Stefan Müller Winery in Krettnach, Denise Benda, Elisabeth Perry and Richard Wolfe will join me in opening the festival with works by Schubert, Beethoven and Brahms. This will be followed by a romantic evening of intense musical dialogue between Beethoven and Schubert, featuring the Duo Trüb Brown. ‘East meets West’ promises an impressive concert for violin, piano and string quartet, featuring Grammy-nominated Joseph Moog, the Franco-Luxembourgish violinist
Sandrine Cantoreggi and the young Japanese Integra Quartet, prize-winners of the 2022 ARD Competition. The multi award-winning Orelon Piano Trio presents music full of expressiveness and depth at the St. Nikolaus Church, featuring works by Amanda Röntgen-Maier and friends.
Once again we look forward to our collaborative concerts: Jennifer Yu, Seohyen Kim and David Stromberg will be performing at Haus Beda in Bitburg, the Konz Grammar School Big Band will bring swinging sounds to the Margarethenhof Winery, and a festive organ concert featuring Matthias Zeller and Daniel Schmahl on trumpet will be held at the St. Nikolaus Church.
We place particular emphasis on supporting young international musicians and are delighted to present two ‘Young Talents’ concerts: the young Italian Rinaldo Trio will perform at ‘Klassik in der Factory’ in Trier, whilst the international Exira Quartet – founded in Berlin in 2025 – will give a matinee concert at the Rochuskapelle, Nittel.
A multifaceted festival awaits you full of inspiration, virtuosity and memorable musical moments. We warmly invite you to join us and
enjoy together.
