International Meisterakademie
in Chamber Music
2023
Music enjoyment at the highest level
That is the leitmotif of the Konz Music Festival, located in the middle of the picturesque four-country corner of Germany, Luxembourg, France and Belgium.
The historicMonastery of St. Brunoat the confluence of the Saar and Moselle in Konz is the venue for many concert events and home to the academy for the musical masters of tomorrow. It will be renovated this year!
The academy will therefore be moved to another historical building in the middle of the city, today's city libraryrelocated. This building was planned in 1969 as the administration building of the company Zettelmeyer, today Volvo AG, based on plans by the famous architect Egon Eiermann from the AG für Industrieplanung Essen and built by Strabag-Bau AG from mostly industrially prefabricated parts and put into operation in 1970. The facades of the narrow sides were specially designed in color by the painter Georg Meistermann (1911-1990) and are today regarded as a successful example of the change of a functional building through colorful decoration into a total work of art and a dominant feature of urban planning.
Here, based on the 25-year tradition of the former summer academy within the Konz Music Festival in the period from August 31 to September 10, 2023
the newly designed international master academy for chamber music took place for the third time.
Here you will find selected young musicians who are preparing their joint performances on September 7th and 9th at the concerts as part of the official festival program during the master class.
The academy not only offers the opportunity to work intensively with experienced lecturers and to receive valuable suggestions from artists who are in demand worldwide, but also to perform at the highest professional level and to make diverse contacts in the inspiring atmosphere of the festival.
The limited field of participants is put together exclusively by invitation after application.
