KAMMERATA LUXEMBOURG

The Kammerata Luxembourg was founded in 1985 and is an ensemble with a variable structure, paying particular attention to the selection of its repertoire. The Kammerata's activities are financially supported by the Ministry of Culture.
With the release of its CD 'Hommage à Schumann' in September 2019, the ensemble changes its name to Kammerata Luxembourg.
The Kammerata is both a concert organizer and a collective of musicians and artists, and in varying compositions often presents contemporary works in combination with music from the classical and romantic eras.
In addition, she regularly invites outstanding foreign musicians and secures collaborations with outstanding Luxembourg-based professionals for the majority of her concert series.
A noble mission that has gained importance in the collective's efforts is the promotion of contemporary composition in Luxembourg through commissions. As a result of this policy, it was possible to release the recording 'Echoes of Autumn and Light - New Chamber Music from Luxembourg' in February 2021, featuring five new works by four composers living in the Grand Duchy or holding Luxembourgish citizenship: Georges Lentz, Camille Kerger, Marcel Reuter, and Markus Brönnimann.

Having won awards at various international competitions, the Quatuor Agate reached an important milestone in 2021 when it emerged victorious from the prestigious Young Classical Artists Trust auditions in London.

In 2023, the Quatuor Agate was honored to be named ECHO Rising Stars 2024/25, thus playing in the most important concert halls in Europe, including the Philharmonie de Paris, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam or the Vienna Musikverein.

The musicians are passionate about bringing chamber music closer to everyone, and just a few weeks after the quartet was founded, they embarked on their first project: the founding of the CorsiClassic festival, which has been held every year in Ajaccio, Corsica ever since.
